Douling Gr
Type Locality and Naming
Western Fujian. Hou Defeng erected the Douling volcanic rock series, which was assigned to the upper part of the Cretaceous. Type area is region of Yong'an City of Fujian. In 1961 the Fujian Institute of Geology renamed it the Douling Group and assigned it to Late Jurassic. In 1965-1966 the Fujian Regional Geological Survey Team continued to use the name of the Douling Group and still assigned it to Late Jurassic. During the lithostratigraphic sorting of Fujian in 1994, the group was divided into two parts: the lower Yuanpan Fm and the upper Xiadu Fm.

Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Its unconformable base marked by purple red and light gray green clayey sandstone, thick-bedded gravel-bearing grit and conglomerate is distinguished from the underlying Indo-Chinese granite.
Upper contact
The top is a disconformable contact bounded by the appearance of gray green tuffaceous shale of the Bantou Fm
